Picking the Cause for the Crowd

Good Morning. Good Evening. God Bless your life. Sonya loves either cartoons or the food network. I don’t trust cartoons much, so guess what she’s watching. Disney and Nickolodeon ruined it for me when it comes to cartoons, but I’m an adult and she’s a kid. I have to keep that in mind. She really is fascinated with the food network though, probably something to do with her love for food, but for a little girl who isn’t even three yet, I think that’s pretty cool.
Somehow I’m bumping into more and more people who feel the same about those cartoons. That’s cool I guess. That some of them have this opinion based off the viewpoint of some other people, that’s not ok. My experience with Disney and nickelodeon is personal, it’s mine alone. I’m just tired of all the agenda pushing I keep seeing more and more of in what is supposed to be kids’ entertainment. That there are people who agree is a little validating to be honest, but anything can be agreed on. People need to start paying attention to what they’re agreeing to.
Many if not all humans seem to share the need to belong, be a part of something, something bigger than themselves, yada yada yada. I include myself in this group of people, and not only have no problem with this feeling, I believe it to be a necessity. Too many people have it, and I don’t believe in coincidence anyway. The problem arises when the pressure to belong pushes you to settle for the first cause you find remotely welcoming. The first common agreement you find remotely meaningful.
And I don’t even blame the robots and mannequins. I blame some to many of these parents, because this stuff starts at childhood.
You seed dispersing baby producing lot, WHO EVER you are, for ANY reason, owe, and I really mean OWE it to yourselves, us and your seed to grow and nurture a few basics in them. Two of these basics are self control and individuality. This whole football fan child raising mentally is just plain ineffective. It’s why young female teens in school make pregnancy pacts, friends become clicks, and clicks become gangs.
One of my best friends and I discussed all my recent changes, spiritual and otherwise, and asked if I was in a cult. I laughed while recognising the seriousness and validity of this question then promptly said no. I got to this version of Christianity through my own struggle, trial, tribulation and eventual triumph. Plus I think for myself too much. I and a cult just wouldn’t work for each other. I might have been that ass at the water, but my ears and tail got shorter the second I had to be sure of what I was drinking.
Raise your kids, people. And please, for everyone’s sake, raise them right. It’s that or cut off some glands and tie some tubes. These kids are the future, and that future eventually becomes the community we live in. Clicks turn out strippers, whores and drug addicts, and gangs destroy whole communities. And too big of a percentage of this problem can be attributed to a kid either not being raised, or not being raised right. The biggest gang in the world is the one of these twenty to thirty somethings just trying to live the most popular version of life, worrying about it's direct effect on them like it doesn't affect the rest of us, then complaining about the state of the world like they didnt make the biggest contribution.
How are you going to pick a journey based on the first available opinions, then bitch about the destination?
